So you want to know about the adams fly? The most famous and versatile fly known to bluegill fly fishing. When I first started tying my own flies I had no idea what I was doing. Even with that I learned the adams fly quickly. The adams fly was the first fly I ever learned and is still one of the best flies in my box for bluegill fly fishing.
The adams fly is by far one of the ultimate flies for bluegill fly fishing because it so closely resembles many different foods that bluegill eat. I do have a suggestion for you after learning how to tie the basic pattern or buying it start experimenting with it. One thing I love to do with the adams fly is make the body with peacock hurl because I feel that it make the body look most realistic.
When using the fly dab a tiny bit of floatant on it and want the bluegills go nuts over it.
