Nymph fly fishing is among the most popular types of fly fishing. The reason for this is simple. Most fish feed off of insects that are below the surface. Although my favorite type of fishing for bluegill is dry fly fishing I thought I would go over why nymph fly fishing is equally as important to learn. Like I just said the majority of the food fish eat is below the surface. Actually, 90% of there food is below the surface. This food source is know as nymphs. Nymph fly fishing is easy to learn and what is really neat is that you can do a piggy back system of fishing where you can fish two different flies at the same time by tying a fly to the hook of another fly. I would recommend taking the time to learn about this technique as it will come in handy more often than you think.
